I just signed up for myspace.com …

… And I already hate it! The interface is user hostile, attempting to trick you into navigating elsewhere – generally ads from their sponsors which litter the page like cigarette butts outside a bar on a Saturday night. Within 24 hours the level of spam has increased in my email and the address is not even viewable to the public!

I uploaded a recording of a song I wrote and have yet to see the interface update. I have some less technically inclined friends on the network, so I figured I’d link them at least while I wait for their server to ‘convert’ the mp3 to a streaming format – no go, I get an unknown error.

I must say this has to be one of the poorest excuses for a site host, and it astounds me that anyone manages to get a site up in the first place. Needless to say I shall be attempting to extricate myself from this myspace.com nonsense ASAP.

I’ll be going back to Plan A and building a site of my own, especially now that I’ve found XSPF Web Music Player. Give it an XML formatted playlist and some options and embed it right in your HTML for free. Now that I can appreciate.

Reconnected and Reunited

As it turns out, I received an answer upon calling my phone in the afternoon today. Thankfully it was the driver of the bus who had it, so it’s been recovered.

My cat, Titus, however decided to get through a screen, out to the balcony, moved a piece of wood diving the units and spend a few hours sunning at the neighbors. Whilst I’m out I shall need to buy him a collar. He nearly scared the heck out of me, that’s for sure.

That’s right, starting this month OC Transpo users will be able to claim their bus passes on their taxes! Good news for those of us economically and environmentally minded riding public transportation regularly.
