Flattery Will Get You Everywhere

Earlier this year my roommate was dating this musician, and in the course of that he and I jammed on several occasions. They split after about a month and other than running into him on occasion we never really saw each other since.

However, he did have my phone number and to my surprise he called me a couple of days ago to offer me a gig at a local bar! I hope to go check it out this week if I have time, then perhaps go play there the following week if it checks out OK.

The concept is that it’s an open mic show, but only people he deigns are decent and won’t just be making a drunken annoyance on the stage can come up. So, he stroked my ego and sold me on the idea. I was quite flattered he thought of me and made the offer.

I’ve been so busy with other things I’ve not been playing as much as I should be, so I’m going to have to practice like a mad-man for the next two weeks in preparation of this little event. I’m not entirely sure when I’ll have the time, but it can be made to work.

The question runs; ‘What do you think is the best way to tackle climate change?

Hope you have time to give your views on this very important issue.

Thanks. It’s no big deal though. I still have my day job, I do these things for fun, nowadays.
